Old Kent Road Family Zone (OKRFZ)
The OKRFZ is a place-based approach to change, by working with the community to both strengthen and celebrate it. We are at the start of our journey and would love for you to be involved. You can:
- Volunteer at the Saturday Marketplace at Surrey Square, taking place on the last Saturday of each month, 10 – 1pm – Complete this form and a member of the team will be in touch
- Donate items to the Saturday Marketplace (e.g. Food, clothes, children’s toys). Get in touch with Tiff Barone – [email protected]
Real World Learning (RWL)
Our work experience programme for students is very unique. Starting at ages 14-15, students spend half a day a week in a workplace, for a term and a half. Our students and their host organisations work on a project that is more meaningful and authentic than traditional work experience. This way, they combine head, heart and hand – applying knowledge, learning self-confidence and developing skills.
Many organisations are already benefiting from the Real-World Learning Project, through working with and managing young people and gaining a diverse perspective and input on their work.
If you would like your organisation to be involved, get in touch with Esther Coppeard – [email protected].
