Real World Learning Project Toolkit

£0.00

Think about your work experience as a student. What did you learn? What skills did you develop? How did it impact your future? For many of us work experience was a week or two of menial tasks like making cups of tea. At School 21 we wanted to give our students a real world experience, which would actually have an impact on their future. That’s why we developed the Real World Learning Programme. This toolkit guides you towards implementing a more holistic and authentic learning experience to students and create lasting and impactful partnerships in your community.

Who is it aimed at?

Careers leads / Work experience TLR holders. Leaders and Trusts wishing to go beyond the new statutory requirements for careers education.

About the author

School 21

School in East London

School 21 is a pioneering 4 to 18 school in Stratford, East London, for children from all backgrounds. The three founders of School 21 Peter Hyman, Oli de Botton and Ed Fidoe came together with a shared belief that education must be done differently if we are to prepare young people properly for the world they are going into. Their conviction was that we needed schools to rebalance head (academic success), heart (character and well-being) and hand (generating ideas, problem solving, making a difference). School 21 has developed a series of pedagogies and approaches that give students the chance to find their voice, develop deep knowledge and understanding, and create beautiful work that has real value beyond the classroom.
